Principal Hostetter approaches education with a belief that all students can and deserve an opportunity to be successful. He believes that, at Baldi, students’ success must couple academic achievement with development of the whole child. This is why enrichment opportunities and quality instruction are essential for our students. Hostetter is committed to celebrating and promoting values of teamwork and joy, as well as focusing on the continuous improvement of Baldi’s instruction.
In 2008-2009, Hostetter served with City Year Greater Philadelphia. City Year is a national service organization that focuses on leadership development and community service for 18 to 24 year olds. At City Year he served as a team leader for a 8 corps members in service at Benjamin Franklin Elementary School. While volunteering his team conducted of 1800 hours of community service and held events that engaged the school and community members and ultimately inspired him to teach Social Studies and Special Education at Bartram High School in Philadelphia. Hostetter also taught at KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy before becoming the Principal at Baldi in 2015. Luke graduated the University of Mary Washington and received his BS in Business Administration. He received his masters degree in Education from Chestnut Hill College in 2011. Hostetter is from Richmond, Virginia and has lived in Philadelphia for the past 8 years. He is passionate about education in Philadelphia and hopes to empower young people to create positive change for themselves, their communities and their country.
